Real Life Room: Designer Orange and Aqua

This orange and minty gray room was designed by interior designer Cristi of Charm Home for her son Chase.  She combined lux fabric and and amazing color scheme with DIY projects to create this perfect modern yet cozy and calming space.  I just love it!

Overall shot of the room

Can you believe this rug is a DIY project?  Click here for the details on how to make your own.

The dresser is the budget friendly Malm from IKEA, along with the light fixture and drapes.

Love the art collage.  She combined etsy finds with some family pieces to make it personal.  I suggest cruising the blogosphere for some free nursery printables to create a similar look for cheap.  And white IKEA frames are an inexpensive way to frame all your art.

Real Life Room: Aqua Vintage Eclectic

This Real Life Room comes to you from Joni, the designer and blogger behind one of my favorite nursery decor sites laybabylay.  She designed the room for her daughter Vivi Charles, and it is filled with personalize items that create the perfect vintage eclectic space.

I love the aqua walls mixed with the subtle pink and gray touches.  Joni and her hubby took on quite a few projects for the space, and she was kind enough to share the tutorials on her blog, just click the links below to be taken to them:

In addition to designing and blogging at laybabylay, Joni is also a graphic designer and sells her beautifully designed wedding stationary and invitations and hand-painted signs (you have to check them out!) on her site, chocolatebutterbean.

Joni, you are one talented Mommy, thanks for sharing your nursery and your designs with me!

Real Life Room: Bright and Budget Big Girl Space

This Real Life Room belongs to Emory, the lucky daughter of interior designer Danielle of Danielle Oakey Interiors.  Although you would never know it, it was designed on a budget and features made-over furniture and lots of DIY projects.

I love the mix of aqua and red with the black and white stripes.  The way it all comes together proves that if you fill a space with things and designs you love, it will come together!

Danielle offers her design services to Utah residents, but if you don't live close and are interested in a consultation she also offers e-design services.  Her blog is full of great ideas and she was kind enough to share some of the projects she used in her daughter's room with her readers.  Check out the links below for tutorials on how to create these looks yourself:

Thanks for letting me share your amazing space, Danielle!

Celebrity Nursery: Laili Ali

This room by Little Crown Interiors has been making the blog rounds over the last few weeks, and it is just too pretty for me not to post.  I love the colors, the Hollywood regency feel, and they way they created architectural interest with the paint treatment on the walls.

Here are some of my favorite shots, plus some close ups so you can see how it was done!

For a more complete source list of the elements in this room, visit the Little Crown Interiors site here.

Nursery Inspiration Board From My Mod Baby

After trying to put together my own design board with little success, I asked blog-friend Jessie from My Mod Baby and My Mod Style for a little assistance.  She has a wonderful modern style with an eye for color and detail and I thought she might be able to put together something a little more professional for me.  Boy did she come through - her design board is amazing!

You can jump on over to her blog for all the details, but here is what she came up with:

Here are some more detailed aspects of the design:

She did an amazing job of mixing her modern style with the vintage touches and graphic patterns I love.  I can not thank her enough for her generous help!

If you are interested in a design board for your nursery or any room of the house, Jessie is now offering her e-design services for a flat fee of $25 a board.  Here is what she has to say about her services:

I love helping people decorate a room. Sometimes it is hard to pull a room together and you just need a little inspiration. I can help by making a custom Design Board. It is a collage of decor and ideas designed especially for you and your room! I search the web for inspirational images and items that you can purchase for your space. My Design Boards are designed to help you jump start your decorating project and make you feel INSPIRED!!!

When I complete your board I will email it to you along with any ideas or feedback I may have. I post the board on my blog with all the links to the items I have selected for your space. I usually only design one board for each project. Every once in awhile I come up with so many ideas that I will make an extra one. There is no extra charge for this.

Read to get started? Check out her services page and email her to get going on your design.  If you love modern style, it will be the best $25 you ever spent to get you going in the right direction!

Big Boy Room from Little Crown Interiors

Yesterday I featured a big girl room in purple and yellow, today its a big boy room with a subtle train theme.  The designers at Little Crown Interiors really know how to make a sophisticated room and this design is sure to grown with the lucky little boy.  If he outgrows the trains, the wall paint, furniture and bedding will all last into his teen years - just add the latest item of interest (skateboards, cars, sports, whatever!)

Parisian Chic Nursery From Little Crown Interiors

Today I bring you another fabulous design from the team at Little Crown Interiors.  If you are lucky enough to live in the Southern California weather, they are available to design, shop and implement a gorgeous nursery that fits your needs and style perfectly.  If you don't live in CA, you are missing out on the weather but you don't have to miss out on their designs.  They also offer e-design services including a space plan and shopping list.

This design has a Parisian Chic theme that seamlessly blends modern furniture with a classic color scheme and some unexpected design touches.

This mirrored clock layered over a grandfather clock style decal adds depth and glamour
3-D wall flowers ad depth and allow you to create the perfect shape for your space
Modern furniture mixes surprisingly well with the classic theme because of the bold patterns used in the drapes and wall art
