37 Week Pregnancy Tips

Well I am officially in week 37 of my pregnancy and I have to say, up until last week it has pretty much been a breeze.  I could not have asked for a more enjoyable experience.  But my poor baby is quickly running out of room and she is letting me know it daily.  She is battling hard to get out and is punching, kicking and trying to wiggle her way free.  Although it is cool, it does hurt sometimes and I end up having to lay down so to take the stress off some of my other organs.

Last week my Dr told me that she would more than likely arrive a few days early, so that is good news, because I don't know if I can take 3 more weeks of Baby Battle!

So, onto the post.  When you are pregnant you get tons of advice, both helpful and unsolicited.  Below are a few random thoughts I have had that I thought would be good to share:
  • Get the gummy prenatal vitamins.  They taste great and I actually look forward to eating them every morning like candy.  Sure they might be a bit more expensive, but the last thing you want to choke down when you don't feel good is a huge horse pill.
  • Start moisturizing your skin now!  I have been using Palmers for stretch marks ever since I found out I was preggo and don't have any so far.  But I would recommend you start lotioning up your belly, sides and back fat now if you plan on getting pregnant in the near future.  It will help to have your skin already moisturized and ready to start stretching!
  • If you don't have a housekeeper (we have one that comes to deep clean once a month) I suggest you hire someone to come do a deep clean a few weeks before your due date.  If your mom/friend/sister is willing to do it, all the better for you!  It will feel great to have the house clean and ready for the baby and you will not be in the mood or condition to do it yourself!  Its totally worth it!
  • Although it may be tempting, avoid shopping for maternity clothes that you can't fit into yet.  I made the mistake of purchasing some things when I was small for future wear, and not all of them looked good/fit correctly when the time came.  For maternity clothes, I suggest a nice resale boutique, Old Navy and Target as the best options.  I chose not to spend much on my maternity wardrobe and instead hope to do a little shopping a few months after the baby comes!
  • Its ok to buy second-hand.  I hit up a couple of consignment and mothers of multiples (MOM) sales in my area while I was pregnant and got some great deals on everything from books to toys to socks that had never been worn.  While I would not suggest a used crib or carseat, some items are perfectly fine to buy second hand.  Check with friends that have toddlers and see if there is anything they plan on getting rid of.  It saves money and is more environmentally friendly.  No need to purchase another huge plastic exersaucer that will only be used for 6 months!
If you are trying or expecting, hope those little tidbits help!  Feel free to comment with your own suggestions, I would love to hear them!

    Congrats!!! You are so close!!
I lathered up with lotion every single night and morning, then 7 months preggo with the twins the dermatologist told me I was wasting my time. Stretch marks are a genetic thing. So, I stopped. And I have 0 too!
But it did make me feel better to lather up!!
