Cool Color: Kelly Green

I good friend of mine is due in a few months and she is not finding out the gender of her baby. Her quest for the perfect neutral room that does not include yellow and pale green led her to decide on kelly green. This color is bright and fun, but you don't see many nurseries using kelly green and she was having trouble explaining her vision to her husband and friends.

One day I stumbled upon this picture, so I sent it to her to see what she thought:




The color is Valspar Signature LaFonda Grassy Knoll and it is the best example of a kelly green nursery I could find. The color is not quite as bold as some kelly green's, but it helped her get an idea of what the room could look like and confirmed that she was not crazy for wanting that paint color! Since then, she has decided to do a white wainscoting on the bottom, and kelly green on top. I will be helping her put together some of the wall art in the room in a few weeks and I can't wait to see it all put together.
