What a Hoot!

The Brooke bedding set from Pottery Barn Kids is a popular one and I can see why! The owls are so cute and there are so many colors to work with in the set. I designed this 20x20" set to coordinate with the big girl bedding. The 20x20" canvases I used are really fun to work with because they are 2" thick and look really upscale. I pulled out the owl design from the pillows and the tree motif from the quilt. I accented it with some coordinating papers to achieve the patchwork quilt look from the set and finished it off with a scalloped border to match the edge of the quilt.

After I was done, I had some left over paper and I crafted up this framed "B" monogram as a surprise! I used to work next to a picture frame manufacturer that would have these sample sales where everything you could fit in a box was $5. Being a sucker for bargains, I could not stay away and ended up with what the Husband calls "the picture frame graveyard." I have BOXES of frames, so I pulled one out, snipped up some paper to coordinate with the pictures and presto! A cute little frame she can put in a stand or lean on a shelf!

This project was super quick and easy and simple for you to do at home. It would even be cute using your last name for display in the living room......hmmm maybe I will do one of those tonight!
