How Do They Do It?

I am feeling very overwhelmed with life right now. Do you have a friend that seems to always be perfect? Her house looks great when you go over for book club, she is always dressed well and always in a good mood? Well, sometimes that is me but not today. I am very much a perfectionist and when I don't feel like things are perfect I get very stressed out. Right now I am feeling like there is just not enough time in the day to get everything done and do it well. Here is what a typical day looks like for me:

5:45 Wake up
6:50 Leave house for 40 minute commute downtown
11:45 Cram lean cuisine lunch into mouth
5:45 to 6:00 Leave work for 50 minute commute home
6:30 Try to run a personal errand or 2 on the way home
7:00 Arrive home, Husband is making dinner
8:00 Do some chores around the house, maybe go on a walk
9:00 Watch a show with Husband, on breaks blog, paint, pay bills, etc
10:00 Watch Chelsea Lately and go to bed

My day seems to have no free time and I feel like I am neglecting all the duties that a wife is supposed to do. I have no time to work out and I am noticing things are not where they used to be.....I feel like the house is always a mess and I want to be more organized but it never happens. I am horrible about leaving things in the dryer and not putting away clothes. Being a working women is very stressful and although the Husband is GREAT about sharing duties around the house I just can't shake the feeling that I am not doing all that I am supposed to do, everything that my Mom seems to do with ease.

I know these are all expectations I have set on myself but I don't know how to be any different. I don't know how you working Moms do it. I can not even imaging bringing a kid into the mix with everything I have going on.

Sorry about the rant but I just thought it might help someone out there to know that not everyone is perfect and we all struggle with the same things. And suggestions, thoughts and tips would be greatly appreciated!

I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I am not all I need to be. My house isn't perfect, I don't cook supper like I should, and not to even mention working out. I only wish I had the energy to lift a hand after I put my little one to sleep. I guarantee you though that the women you think "have it together" really don't. They are just getting by the same way that we do.

I love your blog and all your SO cute ideas!
