Tuesday's Top 5 - Baby Boy Rooms

This week I am starting another new weekly post - Tuesday's Top 5. Every Tuesday I will count down my top 5 picks on various topics - from room theme's to gifts to gear - and every once in awhile, maybe something random. In an effort to show some love those of you with a little boy - or one on the way - this Tuesday's countdown it my top 5 themes for your little boy's room.

Choosing a room theme and color can be a difficult decision that I am sure everyone from your parents to the BFF is weighing in on. Although it may be a little superficial, the decision is extremely personal and I am sure you feel as though it will shape the way your little one grows up. These days many parents are going with a more neutral solid-color scheme, but if you are going theme you might as well go all out.

Here are my top 5 boy themes in no particular order:

1. Transportation with a Twist - This set from Dwell baby, combined with gears painted on the wall, is perfect for a future mechanical engineer

2. Monkey Business - Blue, brown and orange combine in this adorable Pottery Barn monkey set. Not too cheesy, but just the right amount of fun. Check out this stripe treatment for the walls, it makes a huge graphic impact. And Spot on Square's Marcel the Monkey wall hangings make a great addition over the crib or changing table

3. Cowboy Cool - Perfect for Texas, this Buckaroo set is country cute. Play up this theme with accessories found in the grown up section of the home decor store - think giant tin star on the wall.

4. Nautical Nursery - Nothing says little boy like Navy Blue. Bring out your inner prepster with this theme. The decorating options are endless - check out some seaside stores on your next trip to the coast and add a personal touch with vintage flags and buoys

5. Sports Fan - Dad's favorite choice! For this theme you can choose solid bedding in your team colors and add accents from your favorite sports. Check out EBAY for jerseys and pennants you can add as inexpensive decor.

Hope these pics spark some ideas and inspire you to go with an 100% boy theme!
