My latest project was something I really enjoyed creating. A special request made this one more of a challenge and I got to experiment with some new tools - namely a paste that I applied to the canvas before painting. But that is getting ahead of myself.

She loved
this large scale whale art set from PB - on sale for $159 - but it didn't have enough navy:

So after combining the two inspiration pictures, I came up with this:

You can't really tell, but the water has a 3D effect I created with the paste. I used fabric for the whale body and paper for the fin and the boat. For a finishing touch I added buttons as the round windows. Perfect for a Florida baby!
Funny enough, the wall paint sample she sent me was the exact colors I used in my house - Valspar Moose Mouse. If you are looking for a good tan color, check it out!
