Real Life Rooms - Under the Sea Nursery

This week I got a very complimentary email from a reader letting me know she enjoys my posts and is also obsessed with her label maker! She sent me a few pictures of her first child's nursery and I thought it would be nice to share with you all. So often I see pictures in magazines or the Pottery Barn catalog and I am sad that my own house does not turn out exactly how I want it. I forget that the pictures in the magazines have been styled by professionals and costs TONS of $$. I thought it would be nice to start a series of "Real Life Rooms" by readers so you can get real ideas and see how the other Mommies are doing it!

This nursery features an "Under the Sea" theme complete with water and submarines painted on the walls!

She also hung her crib quilt on the wall with this cool shelf/quilt hanger:

She had a friend paint these submarines to coordinate with the bedding set. Painting something like this might seem intimidating but if you just make a template and trace it on the wall it is really much easier than it looks! Just be sure to use paint that will last - I would suggest getting the trial size cans of wall paint in a few colors and using that.

So, if you have a nursery you would like to share with my readers, send me an email or a link to your blog to customnurseryart (at) gmail (dot) com - include pictures - and I might feature you!

I picked up the exact quilt rack at a church yard sale today...for $20! It's Pottery Barn correct? This post gives me a great idea where to place it on my daughter's wall.
