Pretty in Purple

I love to do paintings that are a little different than my normal style, especially for little girls. This next set of 24x24" paintings was done for a pledge sister of mine. Her bedding is from Restoration hardware, and is a pale shade of lavender.

Here is a close up of the bumper:

And here are her new pictures:

Her walls are cream, so I wanted to do something in purple. There is a soft damask pattern in the background that almost looks like wall paper. Her curtains are a darker purple, so I did a dark purple damask pattern in the corners. Her furniture is espresso brown, so the branches and birds are in brown. At the last minute I added the dotted outlines of the leaves to soften the whole look.

I am pretty happy with how it came out. I used stencils for the background and it was my first time to use them. It was a little challenging at first, but once I found the right sponge and consistency of paint it went pretty smoothly.

I know you posted this a couple of years ago, but I am absolutely in love with these paintings! My baby girl is due in a little over a month and I have been searching for just the right decor for her room. We chose to go with a lavender and brown woodland fairy/bird theme. This is a long shot, but do you by chance sell these? I would be extremely interested!

Marilyn, what is your email, I can ask the person I painted them for. She is a friend of mine.
