This is my confession

I started this blog almost 2 years ago for a couple of reasons. First, The Husband said I needed a hobby. He has plenty – football, golf, fishing, hunting – and I didn’t really have one besides shopping. Which he informed me was not a hobby. After creating a painting for my nephew, I got the idea of trying to sell them. I had some computer skills, and decided a blog was the easiest and cheapest (read: free) way to test out my little business.

Within a week and I had an order from someone I had never met. A stranger found my blog and wanted to place an order. The power of the internet never ceases to amaze me.

Over the next few months I wrote posts that might help my little blog become more relevant. I participated in link parties and did some promoting. Soon the orders started coming in almost daily. Recently I have had to even take a break from new orders because I had too many to handle.

Lately I have been a bad blogger. Between my real job, traveling for weddings, family and holidays, and doing paintings I have not had time to create new, original posts. It’s a hard thing to do – balance work and life – and I haven’t been doing a very good job at it. So, for the next few months, I plan on just posting picturse of new paintings when I am done with them. Other blog posts are just not on the priority list right now.

I love painting, and I don’t want to have to stop. I like the creative aspect of it, and let’s be honest, it is really nice to have a little extra spending money to purchase whatever I want! I suspended orders till after the Holidays so that my lead time does not get too long. Everyone tells me to raise my prices so I don’t have so many orders, but I want to keep things affordable for everyone. Please forgive me if it takes a week or so for me to send you sketches, I am just really busy and I am doing my best to keep up with everything.

I hope you are your family have a wonderful holiday season,
Kimberly

My favorite Christmas memory was the first year me and my husband became Santa and I wanted to be up all night putting toys together but since she was only 9 months at the time, we were done within an hour. This year might top that now that there is a little brother experincing his first Christmas.

I have a lot of great Christmas memories, but I think my favorite are just those from my childhood. That magical feeling of waking up at the crack down, sitting on the couch with my little brother, guessing what was under the tree from Santa.
