Embellished Side Pannels

The crib. Its the most important piece of furniture in the room. A great place to start but often the hardest to choose. Fixed or drop side? Convertible? Toddle rail? Classic or modern? White or wood? There are tons of choices out there but that can be a bad thing. If you are looking for something that nobody else has, try tweaking something to make it unique. A creation that is all your own.

This DucDuc crib allows you to chose your own fabric but I am picturing a DIY project similar to my upholstered headboard. Just choose a crib with solid side panels, cut a board to fit and wrap with your fabric of choice.

Here is another example from Newport Cottages:

You all know I love wall decals, but they don't just have to go on the wall. If you have a solid side panel or a thick front rail, you can add a decal to really personalize your crib. Try etsy.com for the biggest selection of decals, as well as vendors that will work with you to customize the color and size. I couldn't find a picture of what I was thinking to show you guys, so here is a sample of a cute decal that I can picture on the side of a crib:

Want to upgrade your crib for baby number 2? Try adding a coordinating paint color to your existing crib like this version from Newport Cottages:

Think outside the box on this one, I know you can do it!
