A couple of months ago, I was lucky enough to become an Aunt! After sharing my baby product knowledge with my sister-in-law, she was all prepared to welcome her little one into the world. The BOB stroller was bought, car seat installed, playard set up. My little nephew's nursery was painted a preppy navy blue with a white chair rail, and the espresso colored crib was outfitted in a classic navy and white Pottery Barn pattern.
There was only one problem. What to put on the walls? Nothing at the store seemed quite special enough. Pictures of animals or sailboats would have been cute, but they just weren't right. My brother and sister-in-law wanting something that was uniquely theirs, something original that represented them, and hopefully what their new baby liked as well. So, with with ocean, shades of blue and their love of the beach in mind I created this one-of-a-kind piece they hung above the crib. With a gingham surfboard that perfectly coordinates with their bedding set and a small "C" for the baby's name, my new nephew has something that will inspire him and remind him of crazy Aunt Kim for years to come!
